Subject: 9519/Employees/Military Duty Date: Fri, 27 Apr 1990 13:13:00 -0500 ORDINANCE NO. 9519 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 9423, THE BUDGET ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADD A NEW SECTION THERETO TO PROVIDE THAT CITY EMPLOYEES WHO WERE CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY DURING THE PERSIAN GULF CRISIS SHALL BE PAID THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEIR CITY PAY AND THEIR TOTAL MILITARY PAY, LESS COMBAT PAY, UP TO $750.00 PER MONTH FROM THE TIME CALLED UP UNTIL RELIEF FROM ACTIVE STATUS, NOT TO EXCEED SIX (6) MONTHS, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY FINANCE OFFICER TO APPROPRIATE THE NECESSARY MONEY FROM OTHER AVAILABLE FUNDS. __________________________ SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 9423, the Budget Ordinance, be and is hereby amended so as to add a new section to provide: City employees called to active duty during the Persian Gulf crisis shall be paid the difference that their City pay exceeds their total military pay less combat pay, up to $750/mo, from the time called to active duty until relieved from active status, not to exceed six (6) months, and the City Finance Officer be and is authorized to appropriate the necessary money from other available funds. SECTION 2.
